Probably the warmest night of the season brought 24 teams out on to our wonderful Payneham greens. Love these warm balmy summer evenings that are so typical of Adelaide …what a joy!!
Mystery round threw up the usual mayhem of apparent mismatches, close results, upsets and NO blowouts.
- Lupi and The Bald and Beautiful in a rematch from 2 weeks ago. B and B looking for some payback only to once again come up short.
- The Reilly’s and The St Peter’s Boys falling across the line by 1 solitary shot against The Latecomers and The Rolling Stones
- No blowouts with only the top of the ladder Sparkling Reds, second placed The 4 Amigos and the much improved Scorpions and The Gold Rollers managing to score 30 or more points.
Ladder has once again re-arranged itself and is taking on an unfamiliar look. This might the year of the upset. Stay tuned.
Winners of the night with a modest score of 31 points and an impressive 26 shots up were Gino, Tony, Frank and Francis. Well done lads…it just might be your year to get your name on the trophy.
Resting toucher went on the last end of the night with Steve from The Rolling Stones taking the prize. Well done Steve who is something of a regular in this event…got to get Steve into a Payneham pennant uniform.
Jackpot number of + 35. Not a chance with no team anywhere near to this number. Next week 150 bucks up for grabs. Well worth staying back for.
Only 3 weeks to go. We might extend the season seeing as the weather seems to be improving. Have a think about playing maybe Tuesday versus Thursday later on in March.
