Weather…ordinary…but then again hasn’t that been the case for the whole season. SO WHAT…we still had 22 teams out for the last round of 2022. It takes more than a bit of cold weather to keep this hardy bunch of off the beautiful Payneham greens.
Season decider came down to the final round with 3 teams in contention for the top spot so let the bowls do the talking and after 15 ends the argument was settled
- 5th place went to the defending champions The St Peters Boys
- 4th place went to the much improved Reilly’s (Bruno yet to feature on our Wall of Fame)
- 3rd place…The Latecomers who led the field for most of the season but stumbled late
- 2nd place went to The Bald and Beautiful who finished just short…again. Will next year be their season?
- In 1st place and deserved winners were the ever reliable Rolling Stones. These lads are always hard to beat and this season proved no different. Congratulations Steve, Troy, Paul and Simon.
Winners of the evening went to The Sparkling Reds who have made a bit of a habit of winning this event. Well done Dennis, Bernie, Pat and Tamara. Keep up the good work.
We had the club president, Craig Peters, draw the jackpot number. After a series of non-starters the winning number of + 8 finally came out of the hat. Both Just For Fun and The Bad Bias Boys finished on this margin and so shared the prize. A most fitting way to give the money away.
