On a night where it was a whole lot better to be inside rather than out we still had 22 full teams out on our wonderful Payneham greens.

Takes a bit more than cold wind, rain and bit of hail to keep this hardy bunch indoors when there are bowls to be played.

Usual round of close scores, surprising results and upsets

  • Scores were very even across the board with only San Marco making it to 30 points
  • 5 games decided by 3 a lowly score of 3 points. Marche and The Misfits. The Optimists and The Blackhill Boomers. Bad Boys and Wrecking Ball. Couldabeens and Last Drinks. Gilligan’s Island and Bowling Dogs. This score was the narrowest winning (or losing) margin. Tight, tight competition.

Winners of the night were San Marco on 30 points and 17 shots up. Well done to Tony, Fred, Dion and Vic. These lads won the night late last year and are showing a bit early form. Keep up the good work.

Jackpot number of -23 was never a chance with the nearest being Dilenas. Only 6 shots off so they were not all that close. 90 bucks up for grabs next week.

So until next week. Be happy and stay safe.
