Bowls, Night Owls, Functions, Dining 08 8337 1251 play@paynehambowlingclub.org.au

Apologies for the delay in publishing the updated tables and blog. We are currently looking for someone to assist with the administration side of night owls. As you probably know the club is run by volunteers and as the old saying goes “many hands make light work” If you would like to contribute a couple of hours a week, behind the scenes, mainly on the PC, please let the club know. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

To say it was a tad warm was a bit of an understatement. The very hot evening kept some players away but we still had 20 teams out to once again play lawn bowls on our wonderful Payneham greens.

Seeing the results I think some teams would have preferred not to play.

  • Most popular score for the night was 2 shots with The Bad Boys, The Misfits and Forever Young all managing to scrap home with this margin against Bowlers 2.0, Dilenas and San Marco. San Marco won 9 of the 15 ends but pulled up short on shot difference.
  • Gully Gallopers and The Bahamas were in a tight tussle all evening and ended up…sharing the points with a draw the result. Could have tossed a coin and spent the evening inside at the bar.

Winners of the night for the second time in the past 3 weeks were The Knight Riders on a very impressive 33 points and 14 shots up. Well done to Wayne, Andy, Hans and Greg.  Keep up the good bowls.

Jackpot number was – 5. Close…but not close enough…was Wrecking Ball on -4 so next week 180 bucks up for grabs.

Don’t forget. Only 3 weeks to go. We might extend the season seeing as the weather seems to be improving. Have a think about playing maybe Tuesday versus Thursday later on in March.

So until next week. Be happy and stay safe.
