Well it’s all over (bar the post mortems, what if’s, if only’s, finger pointing and blame gaming)
What a night a night. Perfect conditions and the best way possible to end the season.
Blackhill Boomers played the Marche but, as has been the case all season, they came up short. Had their chances leading 4 to 1 early and then out to 11 to 8 with only 4 ends to play. But Marche, as they have done all season, dug deep and scored 11 zip in the final 4 ends to run out easy winners.
Winners of the night…WOW you had to be good tonight.
- Old Italians 31 points and 9 shots up…not good enough •Night Riders 31 points and 13 shots up…not good enough •The Optimists 31 points and 15 shots up…you guessed it…not good enough •Misfits 31 points and 25 shots up…still…not good enough
Clear winners on the night and not losing a single end were The Old Italians. First clean sweep I have witnessed in all my nights of night owls. Well done lads on this outstanding result
Winners of the season with another outstanding result was the undefeated Marche. Congratulations and well done to Sat, Naz, Fred and Luciano
In second place were The Night Howlers in their first year of competition. Well done Pete and Mike and welcome to the wonderful world of lawn bowls Paul and Gael.
Third place went to the fast finishing Old Italians.
Encouragement Award went to The Bowl Dogs who had mixed results throughout the season but showed steady improvement and scored an emphatic win late in the season. After all sometimes it isn’t the destination it’s the journey that is important.
Don’t forget we have a full program of social bowls throughout the winter months. We bowl Saturday, Monday and Wednesday so why not come along, try your arm and maybe get lucky.
