Another cold night…whatever happened to those wonderful warm balmy summer evenings??

Didn’t keep our bowlers away though with 24 teams out on our beautiful Payneham greens.

Some really interesting results with the usual upsets, close results and some very big scores.

  • More upsets at the top of the table has resulted in The Falcons, The 4 Amigos and Lupi all in with a chance at the big prize. This will come right down to the wire and so…stay tuned.
  • Only 1 point separated the River Rats from the 4 Chances. What a strange result given that the 4 Chances won 12 ends and ended up losing by a single point. Don’t think I have ever seen such a poor result from such a great effort.

Winners of the night with an impressive score (and just pipping the unfortunate 4 Chances) were the fast finishing and possible king makers The Emery Road All Stars. Congratulations Brian C, Brian H, Nifty and Ronny. This team has hit a bit of form late in the season and will have a big hand in deciding the season’s winner.

Resting toucher went early on the night with Len from The Dreamers claiming the honour. Second time in the last 4 weeks that Len has claimed the prize. Keep up the good work.

Jackpot number of + 35. No one within a bull’s roar…thanks Sat. Next week the prize will be 200 bucks which some lucky team MUST win…good luck everyone.

Our end of year challenge is shaping up to be a real beauty. First round is scheduled for Thursday 23 March. Get your team in for a chance at one of 6 cash prizes. Would love to see as many teams as possible out and supporting our great bowls community.

Don’t forget…last week next week. We will provide the usual light supper and end of season presentation. See you all there

That’s all from me…stay safe…and see you again next week

Mike on the mike.
