Weather put on a bit of a hissy fit but that did not dampen the spirits of the 23 full teams that we had out for another round of Night Owls on our beautiful Payneham greens.
Gee… you had to be good to be in the running for the prize tonight. 30 points or more would normally be enough for a chance at the prize but tonight we had 5 teams with scores of 30 or more. So a worthy mention to the almost couldabeen legends of The Rolling Stones, The Adorabowls, The Latecomers and The Gamblers.
Winners of the night were the 4 Amigos who have a pattern of results win 1, lose1, win 1. Well done Gino, Tony, Frank and Francis. What will their result be next week…maybe…lose 1.
Other results worthy of a mention. The Falcons up by one solitary point over the luckless Emery Road All Stars. The St Peters Boys just don’t know how to lose. They were in a tie after 12 ends and won the last 3 ends and the game by 6 shots. They are going to be tough to beat.
No resting touchers for the night. Must have been the wintery conditions. Bruno NOW is the time to shine.
Jackpot number was – 8 and sure enough the money was happily claimed by The Scorpions who seem to have (if I recall correctly) another success in the jackpot draw. But at the end of the day it is not a gift merely a loan.
