This certainly is the time of year to be out and about in the evening. A balmy summer’s evening brought all 25 teams out on to our wonderful Payneham greens.
Results across the board were fairly evenly matched with some good games and close results recorded.
- Only The Honolulu Hounds and Team Euro managed a score of 30 or more.
- The Gamblers up by a solitary point against Lupi. Same result with The Emery Road All Stars just pipping The Bad Bias Boys
- The Red Devils…how unlucky can you be. Led all game…won 9 of 15 ends but dropped 7 shots on the LAST end to lose by only 2 shots. Who kicked the black cat under the ladder on Friday the 13th?
Ladder is looking a bit topsy turvy with many of the early fancies struggling to find a bit of form. Could be the year of the rabbit. Wait a minute it is the year of the rabbit.
Winners of the night on a modest score of 31 points and 13 shots up were Team Euro. Well done Margota, Mitch, David and Ints. Keep up the good bowls.
Resting toucher went late with Sat from The St Peters Boys taking the prize. Watch for Sat’s smiling face on our Wall of Fame.
Jackpot number of + 6 was always a chance. We had the Scorpions on +4…close…and Just For Fun on + 5…also close but not as close as Gold Rollers on + 6 but with only 1 team member in the club there was no payout (rules is rules…just ask The 4 Amigos) Next week 100 bucks up for grabs. Well worth staying back for.
