What a way to complete the season. Result came down to the wire with upsets galore and a nail biting end to a most unconventional season.
A couple of teams away with COVID issues but still a very healthy 23 sides out for our final round of night owls on the magnificent Payneham greens…good bye C green…she is off for a face lift.
2 draws again this week. • Dreamers and 3 Plus One . • Reillys…again and The Bad Bias Boys
Other end of the scale saw a clean sweep with 1 team winning all 7 ends. Rather not say who…Steve, Tony and Deb…must be missing big brother. Can’t wait to read about that one.
Winners on the night were The Gold Rollers with an impressive score of 31 points and 23 shots up. Well done Mark, Brett, Jack and Kevin. Welcome to the leader board after a couple of close misses earlier in the year.
Resting toucher went off late in the night with the prize going to Claude from The St Peter’s Boys. Claude once again graces our wall of fame and wins a 5 dollar bar voucher for his wonderful effort.
The much anticipated jackpot number was +11. The room went silent as we checked the running sheet and…sure enough…for the first time this year we had a winner. The Dreamers…300 bucks better off. Nice pick up for the team and a great way for Krys to celebrate her ??? th birthday.
Now for the big one. 4 teams in contention and all playing off against each other. Both of the fancies were beaten by the fast finishing Bald and Beautiful who ended up in 3rd spot.
Second place went to The 4 Amigos…once again the bridesmaids.
Top of table were…wait for it…and only by 3 points…the ever reliable and back to back winners The St Peters Boys. These lads had a great season only to get the wobbles late in the season but did enough to hang on and claim the trophy. Well done Claude, Naz, Sat, Gabrielle and (absent) Luciano
Just because Night Owls is over doesn’t mean that bowls stops. We have a comprehensive programme of social bowls over winter. It is only a small step from night owls and a great way to improve your game. Come along and try your luck. Call the club or myself for details.
Thank you everyone for your continuing support of the Payneham Bowling Club over the past 20 weeks.
…stay safe and see you all again next year
