What a great night for bowls. Weather was nice and warm with hardly a breath of wind. We had a very good turnout of 28 teams on the beautiful Payneham greens.

We had another team join our competition. Welcome to the Four Chances and best of luck for the remainder of the season.

Very interesting night with the usual close results and upsets.

2 games with exactly the same score…8 ends to 7 and decided by only 1 point. 2 Plus 2 ahead of The Red Devils and The Emery Road All Stars ahead of The Bald and the Beautiful.

5 games were decided by a margin of 10 points. Just as well the jackpot number was not either plus 10 or minus 10.

Winners of the night were The River Rats with a score of 31 points and 10 shots up. Well done to Russell, Noel, Peter and Patrick.

You had to be really quick for tonight’s resting toucher which went off at 6.57PM and only the 6th bowl played. Well done Helmut from Just For Fun. Commiserations to all those who missed out.

Jackpot has been increased to 50 bucks a night with $100 up for grabs. Jackpot number was + 7.  2 teams claimed the prize with the money split between The Scorpions and The St Peters Boys.

Our centenary gala day has been set for Sunday April 18. We would like as many of our Payneham night owl bowlers to come along and help celebrate this important mile stone in the history of our club. Give this some serious thought. More about this over the coming weeks.

Until then stay safe.

Mike on the mike.
